Prolific Tech Repairs started with a single technician, a mobile repair kit, and an idea most people in Trinidad hadn't seen before: the repair comes to you, not the other way around.
I didn't set out to start a repair company — I just couldn't leave a broken thing alone. As a kid I'd take apart whatever electronics I could get my hands on, just to see how they worked, and put most of them back together again. Half the time they still worked. The other half taught me something.
My own phones were always the first test subjects. Cracked screens, dying batteries, charging ports that stopped holding a cable — I'd fix them myself rather than pay a shop to do it the way I already knew I could do it better. Friends started dropping their phones off at my door. Then friends of friends. Then people my mother knew from church.
What began as a hobby quietly turned into an obsession. I read every repair guide I could find, ordered broken phones off eBay just to practice on, and spent evenings on forums arguing about micro-soldering techniques. I got to the point where most jobs stopped being jobs — they were puzzles I'd already solved somewhere in my head, and the repair was just the part where I proved it.
Today I've repaired over 150 phones for people across Trinidad — not as a side gig, but as the thing I do because I genuinely can't imagine doing anything else. Prolific Tech Repairs is the company name. The way I work is just who I am.
The single biggest reason a phone repair fails is the part that went into it. We buy direct from a small group of tested suppliers — no mystery Amazon panels, no "compatible" parts that lose touch response in a month. Every part we install is logged with the supplier and serial number on the warranty card.
Not every phone is worth a repair. If your 5-year-old device needs a new screen and a new battery, we'll tell you the total and what a similar used phone costs, and let you decide. We'd rather lose a sale than have you leave feeling rinsed.
Every step of our workflow — parts storage in mobile kits, dispatch routing, technician training, even the way we structure the booking form — is designed around getting your phone back to you in the time we said we would. We measure it, the technicians see their times, and we only quote jobs we can finish on the visit.
Book a home visit and watch a screen swap on your kitchen table. No shop to visit, no waiting room, no drive home.
